The Russellettes Majorette Troupe

We are a voluntary majorette group. We train children / young people in the skills of baton twirling, marching and discipline and hopefully how to grow into responsible adults. We meet every Monday at 5pm to 7pm and members pay subs to cover hall hire and an annual membership to cover insurance. Throughout the year our members compete in 4 or 5 competitions, learn routines for exams and grading, take part in carnivals and perform displays at fetes and shows. Competitions usually take place during the winter months between September and April, followed by the National Championships which take place on a weekend in April. We understand that not everybody is able to attend the Nationals, but we do run a saving scheme to encourage members to attend. We are a non-profit making organisation and therefore run entirely through funding, donations and street collections to buy our equipment and uniforms. All we ask from our members and their parents is dedication in getting their child to the various events we take part in. We encourage our members to help with these fundraising events.
