Women in Prison
Women in Prison is an organisation offering advice and support for women affected by the criminal justice system, both in prison and the community. We can help you with the following:
Through the Gate- we support women before and after their release from prison, and provide ongoing support in the community. We can help with things like benefits and housing and getting a GP.
Housing- we support women to find accommodation, keep tenancies, address rent arrears, manage their money and access benefits.
Mental Health- our mental health workers can support women who need extra support when leaving prison, or to manage in the community. We also offer counselling.
Domestic and Sexual Violence- we offer support and counselling for women who have experienced or who are experiencing domestic and sexual violence.
Education- we offer access to distance learning funding for sentenced women.
Advice in prison- we run advice sessions in all 13 women's prisons in England. We can support women through their sentence and help them prepare for release.
