PACT

PACT for Autism is a registered charity (1148170), run by staff, local volunteer parents and professionals.  The group was founded as PACT (Harlow) in December 2005 and became PACT for Autism in June 2012.

PACT support the families of children and adults with autism and other special needs and disabilities by providing various services such as a Parent Helpline, holding monthly meetings (with guest speakers), sharing useful information via email, Facebook and our online Forum, sign-posting to partner agencies.  Access to regular sport and leisure opportunities for our children (and siblings) include trampolining, swimming, multi ball sports and indoor play in addition to school holiday family events and activities.

PACT for Autism aim to increase awareness of autism through fund raising campaigns, holding talks on autism by external speakers and providing inhouse talks by volunteer parents.  By working in partnership with education and health professionals, we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our families.  We aim to develop long term strategies with local communities that will improve living, working, social and leisure opportunities for people with autism and similar disorders.

Being a parent of a child with a disability can be very isolating and we at PACT for Autism pride ourselves on the wonderful friendships that have formed over the years, giving us all the strength and belief to do the best we can for our children.
