Physiotherapy for Children and Young People
The physiotherapy service supports children and young people with a wide range of neuro-developmental and motor difficulties. They are part of a wider specialist team which consists of community paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and children's mental health services.

The Acorn Centre is a purpose built specialist centre for children and is accessible to wheelchairs. There is parking outside the building.
The specialist children's service accepts referrals for children where there are concerns about their development or mental health. We also see children if there are safeguarding concerns or children who are in the care of the local authority or going through the adoption and fostering process. Referrals are received via a single referral system and the service accepts referrals from education, social services and health. All referrals are triaged through a central referral management system to ensure that the child/ young person is referred to the health services that best meet his/her needs.
