Mrs Jennifer Schol (Little Poppets Childcare)
My provision offers care, education and a family atmosphere where children thrive through strong bonds and relationships they form here. Children attend for long hours so my aim is that each child is happy and confident in their surroundings through feeling at home in the setting having their own place for their things such as their own lockers, bathroom cases, own embroidered bathroom towel, feeling empowered to choose activities and resources, ask questions and share their ideas. Children often start as babies and stay until they start secondary school. School children have support with their homework after school and parents love this service we provide. Many parents wish to book my service in advance of starting back to work so their child can have a good settle in period as well as being able to secure their place. I also offer a waiting list service.
We are a vegan setting and have many animals. Children learn compassion and care for animals and this extends into the food we eat. Children have breakfast, lunch, hot dinners and of course puddings and healthy snacks. We make our own home made baby foods, use reusable nappies, we wash all nappies here at the setting and we make our own eco-friendly wipes all to help our environment for our future generations. Children grow their own fruits, vegetables and herbs and we have just purchased an allotment to extend their learning in this regard.
I listen to childrens ideas and everything goes into my planning, they are offered outings and activities of interest to them. We use the community as an invaluable resource and holiday times are fun as the children write their wish lists. As a setting if parents are unable to do certain trips with their child i.e. to forests, beach, aquariums, castles we endeavour to do that here. I use Babys Days Outstanding software for all paperwork and communication and parents say they 'love it' as they can access information at any time rather than await book/paper diaries at the weekend.
I am well qualified and have many qualifications which you are welcome to see on meeting me, my main ones are BA (Hons) Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies, NVQ Level 4 in Advanced Practice, Accredited Special Educational Needs Coordinator Level 3. I have a current First Aid certificate. On contacting I am willing to answer any questions you may have and I have a setting leaflet and prospectus which will give you further details.
