Child Death Helpline

At the Child Death Helpline we’re here to listen. We understand that the death of a child is one of the most devastating events that anyone may experience. Sometimes the feelings of grief can be so overwhelming that they make everyday living very difficult – we’re here to help. Our dedicated helpline offers support to anyone affected by the death of a child of any age, under any circumstances, however recent or long ago.

Your call will be answered by a trained volunteer who has also lost a child and understands the feelings that surround the death of a child. We know we cannot take away your pain.  We do not try to tell you what to do or to offer solutions. We offer a confidential, safe environment where you can talk openly about your child’s life and death – first and foremost we listen. You can freely express your worries and emotions to someone who understands the day-to-day struggle who recognises the need to re-tell the story of a child’s life and death and will not wince or change the subject. The circumstances surrounding the death of a child are many and varied, and the child may be of any age. Every story is unique.

The Child Death Helpline lessens the sense of isolation and encourages you to openly express your thoughts. You can contact our helpline whenever you need to talk. We provide support not only at times of crisis but also for the on-going needs over your lifetime - whenever you need to talk we’re here to listen.
