Why the first 1001 days are so important
The first 1001 days is the period from pregnancy to the age of two of a child's life. There is clear evidence that this phase is vital in shaping and improving children's health, development and life chances. This stage in a child’s life is fundamental in providing them the competencies needed to thrive, laying the foundations for the best start in life and their future.
With input from parents and organisations that deliver maternity and early years services in Havering we have created this booklet, outlining the support available to families across the borough from conception to age two - the first 1001 days.
