What to pack

Be prepared for your festival weekend. Only take what you can afford to lose as there's no way to make a tent secure. Glass objects are usually banned at festivals.

Paperwork:

  • festival ticket
  • money and cashcard (keep these on you at all times)
  • personal identification
  • travel tickets
  • details of who to contact in an emergency

Camping equipment:

  • tent - check that you've packed all its parts, including pegs and poles
  • sleeping mat
  • sleeping bag or duvet
  • pillow
  • radio
  • torch (and a spare set of batteries)
  • camera
  • mobile phone and charger
  • a bin liner to sit on if the ground is wet

Personal hygiene:

  • towel and soap or shower gel
  • toothbrush and toothpaste
  • tampons
  • shaving kit
  • wet wipes
  • antibacterial handwash gel
  • toilet rolls
  • sunscreen
  • after-sun lotion

Medical needs:

  • contraception
  • earplugs
  • glasses, contacts and solution
  • cotton wool
  • antiseptic
  • hay fever medication
  • asthma inhaler
  • antibacterial handwash
  • wet wipes
  • medications (prescriptions/inhalers/items from the chemist)
  • medical information (on allergies, etc.)

Clothing:

  • shorts, jeans, skirt and dress
  • socks, tights and underwear
  • sweater
  • boots
  • soft shoes
  • wellington boots
  • waterproof clothing
  • wide-brimmed hat
  • sunglasses
  • clean clothes to go home in
  • bags for dirty clothing and footwear
