Dads and male carers

We encourage dads to be/dads/Male Carers to use all our services; we know that this is not always possible due to work and other commitments, so are flexible in how we deliver services to include evenings and Saturdays.

Becoming Dad Course

Becoming Dad is a 4-week course with a weekly one-hour session for men who are soon to be dads. Whether you are a first time dad or already a parent/carer, Becoming Dad will explore the practical and emotional aspects of the journey to fatherhood and beyond.

The course also gives dads to be the time to come together to share their concerns, excitement and expectations of becoming a dad. If you would like to find out more about the Becoming Dad course please contact childrenscentres@havering.gov.uk

Being Dad

Being dad is a monthly virtual support group that meets one Tuesday every month 12.30pm-1.30pm via zoom. The group is for dads and dads to be who are experiencing feelings of low mood, tearfulness, anxiety and depression linked to pregnancy, birth and being a parent. It is also for dads/dads to be who are supporting a partner experiencing these feelings. If you would like to find out more about the Being Dad please contact childrenscentres@havering.gov.uk

Dad’s Club

We also hold sessions every other Saturdays that are Dads-only stay & play sessions. This is a place for dads/male carers to meet other dads, play with their children and to get support and advice from our team of practitioners.
